Hemp Wick Candles LLC uses black oval Crisa jars for various reasons, one is because they look good with any décor. Two is because they are made of thick glass that can withstand heat better than some other types of candle vessels. Why oval? Well, that one is easy, everyone else was using round jars or mason jars and we wanted to stand out.
Crisa jars have been around for over 80 years. Crisa glass originated in Mexico and served companies with glassware around the globe until 2006. In 2006 the most famous glass company in the U.S. (Libby) obtained ownership of Crisa glass products, and still maintains the main Crisa factory in Mexico. Libby was originally part of the New England Glass Company that was created in Massachusetts in 1818. The original owner's son of New England Glass Company, moved the organization to Toledo, Ohio in 1888, and changed the name to Libby Glass Company in 1892. Hemp Wick Candles LLC thought it was only fitting that we use glass jars that have been well known in Ohio since the 1800's, and is still here today.
We are also huge history buffs, so it just made sense.
